Health
- The University Health Services is strategically located within the campus, thus making it accessible and readily available on all school hours (8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) to all students, faculty and personnel.
- The Unit is equipped with adequate facilities and complete medical and dental equipment and supplies. Moreover, the AUF Medical Center is just adjacent to the University.
- The staff are experienced and well trained in providing health care program.
- The staff of the Unit has a year-long calendar of activities coordinated with the different academic units focusing on the promotion and maintenance of health of the school population.
- The Unit promotes good health by conducting annual medical and dental check-ups, massive information campaign on prevalent diseases and constant follow up on patients for continuous medical care.
- The Health program of the university is geared towards the following: decrease incidence and morbidity from non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and acid peptic disease through regular check-ups and monitoring and prevention of hepatitis B disease through immunization of students.
- All new students are required to undergo physical and medical check-up. This is implemented as part of the admissions procedures for freshmen and transferees.
- All positive medical findings and results are confidentially discussed with the deans and parents of students concerned. Such are used as points of reference for changing or dropping of courses when deemed necessary.
VISION
The Office of the University Health Services envisions to provide a healthy academic community by promoting health, prevention of diseases and curative services, thereby inculcating health consciousness through self- empowerment leading to efficiency and productivity.
MISSION
To achieve this vision, the Office is dedicated to promote and protect the state of physical, mental and psychological well- being of the whole academic community.
GOALS
In line with its vision and mission, the Office aims to:
- Provide quality health care through promotion of health, prevention of diseases and curative services.
- Administer medical/ dental services through strong collaboration with the members of the Academic community;and
- Empower the members of the academic community to stay healthy through accessible, affordable and quality health care;and
- Promote a healthy community through active participation in medical- dental outreach programs of the University and that of different civic organizations.
