President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo toured the Angeles University Foundation Information Technology Center (AUF-ITTC) as part of her Cyber Corridor Roadshow, on February 1, it was announced by AUF president Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles.
“We are honored that President Arroyo personally picked AUF to be part of her tour. Being the only Center of Excellence in IT education in Central Luzon, this gave us the opportunity to showcase our programs and facilities, and special projects with partner institutions such as DOH, DOST, IBM, Philip Morris, among others”, says Angeles.
President Arroyo addressed a crowd of 2,000 composed of AUF students, faculty and personnel, where she presented the country’s accomplishments in attaining global competitiveness in IT.
The Cyber Corridor Roadshow is a project of the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) that determined top ten New Wave Cities chosen on the basis of an industry scorecard published in the BPAP Industry Roadmap 2010. These cities include: Metro Laguna, Metro Cavite, Iloilo, Davao, Bacolod, Pampanga Central, Bulacan Central, Cagayan de Oro, Bulacan South and Lipa.
