·  Why is AUF considered an educational foundation?

AUF was converted into a non-stock, non-profit educational foundation on February 5, 1979 when the founding family decided to relinquish all their proprietary rights through a Deed of Donation in favor of AUF. As such, all income and surplus from operations are plowed back to the University to support employee salaries/benefits, scholarships and facilities improvement.

AUF officially became the 1st Catholic University in Central Luzon and the 14th in the Philippines on February 14, 1975 in a concelebrated mass presided over by Msgr. Bruno Torpigliani, the Vatican’s Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines then.

The Catholic character of AUF, however, does not discriminate non-catholics from studying or working in the University.
