In 1979, the College of Arts and Sciences offered the Bachelor of Science in Criminology degree as one of its academic programs. It was in 1982 when the College of Criminology was established as a separate college with Prof. Jose B. Maniwang as founding dean. Under his leadership, the College of Criminology was granted recognition on June 18, 1984 by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports pursuant to DECS Order No. 23, s. 1984.
The College started with only seventy nine (79) students in 1979 and its enrolment gradually increased in the following years. It has produced a total of seven (7) topnotchers since 1990 and has graduated more than a thousand students who are now gainfully employed as law enforcement officers, laboratory technicians, signature verifiers, security officers, criminal investigators in various private and public offices in the Philippines and abroad.
Today, AUF’s BS Criminology program is the only PAASCU Level 2 accredited program and the only Center of Excellence in Central Luzon.
The College envisions to produce graduates who are vanguards of justice, peace and order, and to emerge as the center for excellence in criminal justice education, research and community service in the country.
To realize its vision, the College is steadfast and devoted in developing professionally competent and morally upright graduates, who can deliver efficient and effective public safety services and facilitate the speedy administration of justice.
Guided by its vision and mission, the College aims to:
Provide opportunity, instruction and experience where students learn basic knowledge and skills essential in the practice of criminology, law enforcement administration, correctional administration, and safety and security management;
Prepare the students for careers in the police services, jail services, fire services, criminal investigation and other public safety careers;

Foster higher concept of citizenry, leadership and understanding of one’s moral and legal responsibility to his fellowmen and country;
Instill in students the value of service to God and humanity;
The College is affiliated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for the internship and community extension of students. It is also linked with the security service industries and other law enforcement units for its ladderized program in Criminology.
