<title>AUF commemorates Macapagal centenary this September</title>

<description>&lt;p align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;Angeles University Foundation is commemorating the 100th  birth anniversary of former President Diosdado P. Macapagal with a roster of month-long activities, it was announced by AUF president Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles. An exhibit dubbed The Life and Times of Diosdado Macapagal will open today,  September 2 and will run until September 5, at SM City Clark with Pampanga 2nd District  Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as guest of honor. The event will be highlighted by a cultural presentation in honor of Macapagal by the AUF Performing Arts. The same exhibit will be staged at SM Pampanga from September 24-30. Through the exhibit, AUF aims to perpetuate the legacy of Apung Dadong as a statesman imbued with untainted integrity, extraordinary honesty and unquestionable commitment to duty. A memorial lecture series is also scheduled with the following invited speakers who served the Macapagal cabinet: Former SS and GSIS Chairman, Atty. Bernardino R. Abes;  Former National Economic Council chairman and incumbent National Museum chairman Hilarion M. Henares  and former education  secretary Alejandro Roces. Macapagal is dear to AUF because he served as Chairman of the its Board of Trustees from December 4, 1988 until his death on April 21, 1997.   Kapampangans are proud of his  incorruptible brand of leadership and will always remember him as the champion of the poor.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
