Angeles University Foundation (AUF) entered into a memorandum of agreement with the Niigata University of Health and Welfare (NUHW) to jointly undertake programs on faculty development, scholarship, research and student/faculty exchange. NUHW is located at northeast of Niigata City, Japan and is noted for its allied medical programs both in the graduate and undergraduate levels. The MOA signing was led by AUF president Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles (center), NUHW president Dr. Masaharu Yamamoto ( 2nd left), NUHW VP for international affairs Toshihiko Watanabe (left), AUF international affairs director Dr. Lourdes T. AUF commemorates Macapagal centenary this September

Angeles University Foundation is commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of former President Diosdado P. Macapagal with a roster of month-long activities, it was announced by AUF president Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles. An exhibit dubbed The Life and Times of Diosdado Macapagal will open today, September 2 and will run until September 5, at SM City Clark with Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as guest of honor. The event will be highlighted by a cultural presentation in honor of Macapagal by the AUF Performing Arts. The same exhibit will be staged at SM Pampanga from September 24-30. Through the exhibit, AUF aims to perpetuate the legacy of Apung Dadong as a statesman imbued with untainted integrity, extraordinary honesty and unquestionable commitment to duty. A memorial lecture series is also scheduled with the following invited speakers who served the Macapagal cabinet: Former SS and GSIS Chairman, Atty. Bernardino R. Abes; Former National Economic Council chairman and incumbent National Museum chairman Hilarion M. Henares and former education secretary Alejandro Roces. Macapagal is dear to AUF because he served as Chairman of the its Board of Trustees from December 4, 1988 until his death on April 21, 1997. Kapampangans are proud of his incorruptible brand of leadership and will always remember him as the champion of the poor.

Angeles held a memorial service last August 31 at the AUF Confucius Garden in honor of the Chinese hostage victims. â��We pray for the eternal repose of the souls of the victims of this tragedy. The Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) led the Philippine delegation to the Chinese Bridge for Foreign Schools Program of the Chinese Language Council International or HANBAN, held at the Xiamen Pan Pacific Hotel, Xiamen, PR China, from July 26 to August 1, 2010. High School and elementary principals from 23 schools across the Philippines participated in the study tour to improve their understanding of China and encourage the growth of Chinese language programs in their respective schools.

Angeles University Foundation will hold the groundbreaking for the AUF Sports and Cultural Center on July 8, 2010 in Angeles City. The proposed five-storey building will house state-of-the-art facilities committed to sports, culture and the arts. The rites will be led by CHED Chairman Emmanuel Y. AUFMC performs first kidney transplant

The Angeles University Foundation Medical Center (AUFMC) performed its first kidney transplant on a 38 year-old former OFW last June 21, 2010, it was announced by AUFMC President and CEO Atty. Gabriel Martin L. Angeles.
